February is American Heart Month

National Wear Red Day kicked off American Heart Month.

This special day helped build awareness about heart disease in women. Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. All Kentuckians are urged to talk to their health care provider about ways to control high blood pressure and to “know your numbers”.
