Accepting Applications for Administrative Specialist through Jan. 20
The Montgomery County Health Department is accepting applications for a full time Administrative Specialist I.
General Duties: This position serves under the limited direction of the Director. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to; Provide advanced secretarial skills that may include filing, copying, typing, scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence to staff, board of health members, etc.; make arrangements for conferences, committee meetings, employee activities; take minutes at management and staff meetings and upload to the common drive; screen guests/ customers to determine how to direct them appropriately; serve as the agency’s “historian” by maintaining the agency scrapbook, clipping newspaper articles, etc.; initiate, record and monitor work orders for building maintenance and repairs and report progress regularly to the Director of Administrative Services; provide assistance to environmental staff including administering Food Handler’s test, maintain registration of Food Manager’s and Onsite classes, providing support during Court Day weekend.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Community Health, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Computer Science or related degree and one (1) year in administrative activities such as fiscal and budgeting activities, personnel and planning or closely related activities.
OR
High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of experience in personnel activities, fiscal and budgeting activities, office management or closely related activities.
Substitution for Education, Training or Experience: Education in the field will substitute for the experience on a year for year basis not to exceed five (5) years.
Starting Salary: $12.15 – $15.17/hr negotiable with additional experience. Grade 15
